OLD BOATS

It stopped raining this afternoon. I walked to the boat harbor at about 4:00 and set on our dock and did this of 2 old derelict boats in the slough. The one on the right is an east coast lobster boat that a local crab fisherman hauled from the east coast years ago and fished for years from. I can't remember where the other one came from.

I like your gouache painting, very nice. I can't believe you know mushrooms, (that is such a nice simple but beautiful piece) and can pick the right ones to eat. We have a ton, but I'm sure I would poison everyone. Sorry you have been having so much rain, I know what that is like, we had a ton early summer, now fall approaches and I feel gypped... everyone here does. What is your weather normally like?
Funny you have an east coast lobster boat out there, seems so odd to me, however my husband just sold his sailboat to someone in Oregon! So go figure.......

Mary Anne, Thank you for inspiring me to paint on black. The gouache is small, less than 4x4. I tried something a little larger the next day but it was awful.

I know about 5 mushrooms that are good and leave the others alone. We live in a rain forest (the largest temperate one in the world) the Tongass. So it does rain a lot here. Most of this summer though has been the driest I can remember. I was complaining about lack of rain a month ago.
